Our Story — Taliano Prosecco

Our Story

A limited sparkling wine. An unlikely friendship. A story that began with a single glass.

Some things should
never be made
in abundance.

The Philosophy

Taliano is a deliberately limited sparkling wine. Each year, only a few thousand bottles are produced — hand-selected from a single estate in the UNESCO-listed hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene.

This is not a constraint of capacity. It is a commitment to quality. When you hold a bottle of Taliano, you hold something that cannot be replicated at scale — and that is precisely the point.

The Terroir

A UNESCO World
Heritage vineyard.

The steep, terraced hillsides of Conegliano Valdobbiadene have been shaped by human hands for centuries. Recognised by UNESCO in 2019, this landscape is unlike any other wine region on earth — dramatic, fragile, and irreplaceable.

The Glera grape thrives here in the cool Alpine air and mineral-rich soils. It is harvested entirely by hand, on slopes too steep for machinery. This is where Taliano begins.

The Journey

Thirty years
in the making.

1987

A First Encounter

It began with a single glass. During a trade visit to the hills of Valdobbiadene, founder Eldar Taliani tasted a sparkling wine unlike anything he had known — delicate, alive, and unmistakably Italian. He returned home to Baku with two bottles and a conviction that would take years to realise.

1994

The Partnership

After nearly a decade of visits, correspondence, and shared meals, Eldar forged a formal partnership with a fourth-generation winemaking family in Conegliano. The agreement was sealed not with contracts alone, but with a long table, good food, and the best bottle in the cellar.

2003

Taliano is Born

The Taliano brand was officially founded. The name — a fusion of "Italiano" and the Taliani family — captured the dual identity at the heart of the project. The first release was just 3,000 bottles, hand-selected from a single harvest. Every bottle sold within weeks.

2011

DOCG Recognition

Taliano Millesimato received its first Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG designation — the highest classification in Italian sparkling wine. It was recognition not just of the wine, but of the philosophy behind it: that limited production and uncompromising quality are inseparable.

2019

The Rosé

Inspired by the blush of Caspian sunsets, Taliano launched its Rosé expression — a blend of Glera and Pinot Nero that is unmistakably Italian in craft, yet warm and soulful in character. It became the most sought-after release in the brand's history.

Today

Limited. Intentional. Irreplaceable.

Taliano remains a deliberately small producer. Each vintage is limited to a few thousand bottles — enough to share with those who seek it, never enough to become ordinary. This is not a constraint. It is a choice. Because the finest things in life are always rare.

The Craft

Made the Italian way.
Always.

Taliano is produced using the traditional Charmat method — a second fermentation in pressurised tanks that preserves the Glera grape's fresh, aromatic character. No shortcuts. No compromises.

The result is a wine of extraordinary delicacy: light, floral, and alive with fine persistent bubbles. It is sparkling wine as it was always meant to be — not a commodity, but a craft.
